let’s grow!
Join a nationwide microgreens growing experiment—from your classroom, office, or community space!
Find out how plants grow in different ways by comparing things like growing medium, sowing depth, light, and water. You’ll discover how even small changes can make plants grow differently, and uncover what helps them thrive best.
The Seed to STEM Grow Kits let schools, community groups, and organisations all across Australia take part in the same hands-on science experiment. They’re especially designed for places that might not otherwise get the chance to visit our farm or CBD pop-up, like regional and remote schools, aged care homes, disability programs, youth groups, and community centres.
Each kit is delivered straight to you and includes everything you need to run the experiment as well as simple step-by-step instructions, and an easy data sheet to track and record plant growth. Kits are suited to groups up to around 30 participants and free online support is available if you need a hand.
You’ll be encouraged to follow along with a live-streamed national experiment, comparing your results with ours at the farm. It’s all about doing the science yourself, planting, watching, measuring, and sharing what you discover as your microgreens grow.
Organisations can apply for multiple kits, so whole classes, groups, or larger communities can take part together.
No science background or green thumbs needed—just curiosity and a willingness to give it a go.
Seed to STEM is about making sure anyone, anywhere in Australia, can take part in science, explore ideas, and be part of something bigger. More than just a kit, this is a shared experiment connecting people through something real and hands-on, growing food and learning from it together.
